This cascade of events resulted in significant upregulation of both protein and RNA levels of the downstream effectors PPARα and CPT1A. Moreover, the increase in phosphorylated AMPK effectively inhibited the activation of the lipogenic pathway. As a consequence, both protein and RNA expression levels of key lipogenic regulators (SREBP1, FASN, and ACC1) were substantially downregulated, ultimately ameliorating the metabolic dysregulation associated with psoriasis (Fig. 10). This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and psoriasis.
