We found that VEGF levels in the aqueous humor were dramatically decreased in PCV with massive hemorrhage (median, 5.43 pg/mL) as compared with both PCV without massive hemorrhage (median, 34.76 pg/mL; p = 0.003) and typical nAMD (median, 43.88 pg/mL; p < 0.001) and even lower than those in the cataract controls (median, 22.02 pg/mL) although they did not reach the level of significance after the Bonferroni adjustment (p = 0.037). This evidence concerns the gene VEGFA and hemorrhage.
