These studies align with the data we previously generated, as we found that therapy-induced senescence of cancer and stromal cells in response to platinum therapy results in a pro-tumorigenic SASP enriched in TGF-β ligands that activate TGFBR1 signalling and activation of AKT/mTOR pathway in recipient lung cancer cells, boosting tumor progression and relapse, and significantly reducing survival (González-Gualda et al., 2022). The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is lung cancer.
