Mutations in CHCHD2 and CHCHD10 contribute to multiple types of neurodegenerative disorders (Jiang et al. 2022; Ikeda et al. 2022) including amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and frontotemporal dementia, but have not been observed to be lost in aging. This evidence concerns the gene CHCHD2 and Parkinson disease.
