Velutinam is a potent kinase inhibitor, with IC50 values of 0.6 μM against DYRK1A and 1.5 μM against CDK1/cyclin B [33], which makes the species particularly promising against neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, in which those targets contribute to tau pathology and neuronal dysfunction. Here, MAPT is linked to Alzheimer disease.
