MBOAT7 and microcephaly: ,51 In the present study, we further explored the molecular mechanisms underlying microcephaly in Mboat7 KO mice and found that Mboat7 deficiency leads to several RGC abnormalities, including a decreased PI(4,5)P2 level, rounded Golgi morphology, apical detachment, reduced proliferation, impaired differentiation into IPCs, and increased apoptosis.
