Currently, FXI inhibitors have been developed as potential stroke targets, and their role is evaluated by some ongoing trials.38-40 SCARA5 is a scavenger receptor that exports ferritin-bound iron from circulation to parenchymal tissues, including the heart and brain.41 Previous MR studies revealed that SCARA5 can genetically lower the level of serum iron and further decrease CES risk.8,42 Using multi-omics analysis, we confirmed this result, that SCARA5 was associated with a lower risk of AS (OR [95% CI]: 0.92 [0.87, 0.98]). This evidence concerns the gene F11 and Stroke.
