BRCA2 involvement in digestive HGNECs (e.g. colorectal or pancreatic NECs) appears rare: in a multicenter genomic analysis of 229 gastrointestinal high-grade neuroendocrine neoplasms, BRCA1/2 mutations were identified in only 5.3% of NECs (10/188 cases), and none of the variants tested were germline (35). The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is neuroendocrine neoplasm.
