This finding is consistent with a previous report that persistent minimal residual disease negativity, a strong predictor of long-term survival, correlates with the abundance of butyrate-producing Eubacterium hallii and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii.21,22 Recently, Shi et al. discovered that butyrate could inhibit the progression of natural killer/T-cell lymphoma by downregulating the JAK-STAT pathway.23 The gene discussed is SOAT1; the disease is T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
