Logistic regression analysis revealed that a high APACHE II score (OR = 1.480, 95% CI: 1.127–1.945), high NT-proBNP level (OR = 1.013, 95% CI: 1.005–1.021), high sTREM-1 level (OR = 1.116, 95% CI: 1.034–1.205), and high HMGB1 level (OR = 1.006, 95% CI: 1.002–1.011) were risk factors for SIMD in patients with sepsis (P < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and Sepsis.
