Mechanistically, sleep disorder dysregulates appetite‐related hormones (ghrelin elevation and leptin suppression) and heightens mesocorticolimbic reactivity to food cues, synergistically driving hyperphagia (+350 kcal/day) and hedonic dietary patterns (Greer et al. 2013; Burrows et al. 2020; St‐Onge 2017).
