SSB and pericarditis: The main features of SLE include polyserositis which manifests as pericarditis, pleuritis, and peritonitis, dysregulation of both the innate and adaptive immune systems, and the generation of abnormal autoantibodies such as anti-double-stranded DNA (anti-dsDNA), anti-Smith (anti-Sm), anti-ribonucleoprotein (anti-RNP), anti-Sjögren’s syndrome antigen A (anti-Ro/SSA), anti-Sjögren’s syndrome antigen B (anti-La/SSB), and anti-phospholipid antibodies (55, 56).
