During EBV infection, LMP1 upregulates A20 expression via the NF-κB pathway, but A20 then physically binds to the LMP1 signaling complex and displaces signaling molecules such as TRAF1 and TRADD, thereby inhibiting LMP1-mediated NF-κB activation [86].
