In contrast, strawberry treatment markedly improved neurotransmitter levels, resulting in 2.1-fold increases in both DA and NE, a 1.5-fold increase in 5-HT, a 1.9-fold increase in BDNF, and a 36.8% elevation in acetylcholinesterase (AChE) levels relative to the AD group. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and Alzheimer disease.
