IL15 and eosinophilic esophagitis: In eosinophilic esophagitis, interleukin-15 released by stressed epithelial and immune cells fuels a self-amplifying inflammatory niche (PMCID: PMC5540113): it licenses dendritic cells, extends survival of cytotoxic T and NK cells, and primes eosinophils alongside ILC2s, thereby boosting type-1 and type-2 cytokine output while crippling regulatory brakes.
