FADS2 and metabolic syndrome: In another study conducted in Mexico, children’s cardiometabolic health was assessed at 11 years of age, and it was found that, in children of mothers with the TT genotype in FADS2, DHA supplementation decreased the metabolic syndrome score by 0.26 units, whereas in children of mothers with the CC genotype, the metabolic syndrome score increased by 0.24 units [52].
