We proposed similar integrative approaches in chronic kidney disease, where panels of inflammatory, oxidative, and atherogenic biomarkers, including proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), soluble epoxide hydrolase (EPHX2), advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), better capture cardiorenal risk than single markers [39]. This evidence concerns the gene PCSK9 and chronic kidney disease.
