The P-gp protein is responsible for removing many chemotherapeutic agents used in cancer treatment from the cells, such as anthracyclines (DOX, daunorubicin, epirubicin), actinomycin D, etoposide, mitomycin C, mitoxantrone, vinblastine, vincristine, taxanes (e.g., PAC), and TOP used in ovarian cancer treatment [24].
