The authors proved that overexpression of ACE2 (in this model induced using rAAV/8-ACE 2) increased ANG 1-7 and interleukin (IL)-10 levels, reduced ANG II levels, HSC autophagy and activation, induced HSC apoptosis and, finally, reduced the degree of liver fibrosis. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and Hepatic fibrosis.
