Although MCO membranes have been adopted in dialysis centers worldwide and real-world registries, including the Colombian COREXH cohort of nearly 1000 patients, demonstrate stable albumin levels, mortality of 8.5 deaths/100 patient-years, and hospitalization rates of 0.79 events/100 patient-years, comparable to HF [10], data on their effects on dialysis adequacy, inflammation, laboratory parameters, symptom relief, and patient-reported outcomes remain limited.
