Although significant progress has been made in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma, another subtype of NSCLC, through molecularly targeted therapies, such as those targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) [3,4,5,6], similar advancements have not been achieved for LUSC.
