Specifically, individuals with higher insulin resistance metabolic score (METS-IR = ln[(2 × FPG mg/dL) + TG mg/dL] × BMI kg/m2/ln[HDLc mg/dL]) values had a 1.67-fold increased risk (95% CI:1.53–1.83) of developing hypertension, while those with elevated HOMA-IR showed a 1.43-fold increased risk (95% CI: 1.27–1.62) and those with high fasting insulin levels had a 1.54-fold higher risk (95% CI: 1.34–1.76) [17,18].
