CDH1 and neoplasm: Since both in vitro induced 3D spheroidgenesis and its in vivo equivalents, which include primary tumor clusters, lymphovascular emboli, and micrometastases, undoubtedly involve common cell adhesion, growth, metabolism, and hypoxia-regulating pathways [26,27,28,29,30], and because our previous studies in spontaneous spheroidgenesis observed the roles of E-cadherin, E-cadherin proteolysis, mTOR, and Notch signaling [23,24,25], we decided to focus on these signaling pathways in our present study.
