In this study of patients with advanced CKD (median eGFR 17.9 mL/min/1.73 m2), higher plasma MCP-1 levels were associated with a more rapid decline in kidney function, with an additional annual decrease of approximately 1.0 mL/min/1.73 m2 compared to those with the lowest MCP-1 levels. Here, CCL2 is linked to chronic kidney disease.
