Mutations and reduction in Nr1h4, and Nr0b2 transcript levels have been noted in cholestasis (reduced bile flow and subsequent increase in hepatic and serum bile acids [(BA])), fatty liver disease, and liver cancer (Gomez-Ospina et al., 2016; Van Mil et al., 2007; Nishigori et al., 2001; Kong et al., 2009; Wolfe et al., 2011; Park et al., 2010; He et al., 2008). The gene discussed is NR1H4; the disease is liver cancer.
