CD69 and asthma: More recently, CD25 has been reported as a unique marker on blood basophils in patients with stable-mildly symptomatic forms of allergic asthma while, the expression of other classical basophil activation/degranulation markers, such as CD69, CD203, and CD63, remained comparable to healthy individuals (8), indicating the predictive potential of CD25 expression on basophils as a biomarker of disease prognosis and treatment efficacy in asthma.
