Aberrant ERBB4 transcripts in a subset of ALK-negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) are driven by reactivated intronic long terminal repeats (LTRs), highlighting how endogenous transposons can disrupt transcriptional regulation, destabilize the genome, and contribute to oncogenic transformation (Scarfò et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene ALK and anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
