This study evaluated the efficacy of combination therapy using allogeneic umbilical cord blood (UCB), a relatively safe therapeutic cell source, and recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) in patients with subacute stroke.<h4>Methods</h4>In this double-blind, randomised controlled trial, we enrolled patients with subacute stroke one to nine months after stroke onset.
