The HF diet promoted a transcriptional profile favoring lipid accumulation, characterized by the significant upregulation of the lipogenic genes fatty acid synthase (fas) and sterol regulatory element binding transcription factor 1 (srebp-1), while concurrently suppressing genes critical for fatty acid oxidation (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (pparα), carnitine palmitoyltransferase 1 (cpt-1)) and lipolysis (lipoprotein lipase (lpl), hormone-sensitive lipase (hsl)) compared to the Control group (P < 0.05). This evidence concerns the gene FASN and hydrops fetalis.
