SMARCC1 and Hydrocephalus: Additionally, Sfpq, which is a RNA splicing protein the loss of which is shown to cause CNS and neural crest defects in zebrafish (88) and Smarcc1 (aka Baf155, Srg3), a core component of the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, depletion of which is linked to hydrocephalus (89), was highly expressed and canonically active through all stages of neural crest development.
