We note that immunohistochemistry of endogenous PREB in human appendix, colon, and rectum tissues from Human Protein Atlas (63) does show that PREB can natively localize to the nucleus of a subset of cells in these tissues (Supplementary Fig. S2); unfortunately, no such data exist for the pituitary gland, where PREB was first isolated as a DNA binding protein, although experiments by Suzuki Fliss and co-authors confirmed nuclear localization in the rat pituitary tumor GH3 cell line (56). This evidence concerns the gene PREB and pituitary tumor.
