Fasted mice treated with IAsp showed a sharp decrease in BGLs at1 h postinjection that falls below the normoglycemic threshold, indicatinga risk of hypoglycemia. This rapid reductionis due to the immediate systemic exposure of insulin-sensitive tissues, such as skeletal muscle and adipose tissue, to high insulin levels, bypassing the liver, which plays a key regulatory role in glucosemetabolism. In contrast, mice receivingcasNP/insulin/C10 showed a mild decrease in BGLs that wasmaintained above the healthy range, thus reducing the hypoglycemicrisk. This evidence concerns the gene INS and Hypoglycemia.
