CRP and Segmented Neutrophils to Neutrophils Ratio Measurement: Laboratory investigations demonstrated neutrophilic leukocytosis (WBC 22,550/mm3, 80% neutrophils), elevated C-reactive protein (CRP 12.8 mg/dL; normal < 0.5 mg/dL), and markedly increased procalcitonin (26 ng/mL; normal < 0.05 ng/mL), consistent with a severe systemic bacterial infection.
