NLRP3 and neoplasm: Experimentally, it has been shown to activate the NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain–containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome, stimulate proliferative pathways such as the mitogen-activated protein kinase/extracellular signal–regulated kinase (MAPK/ERK) pathway, and modulate immune responses via invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells, thereby promoting an inflammatory and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment [23,24,25].
