The findings of this study hold significant promise for enhancing clinical practice by providing a biologically grounded, adjunctive tool for the objective assessment of combat-related PTSD, leveraging the combined measurement of serum cortisol (<199.8 nmol/L) and IL-6 (>0.002438 pg/mL), which are both routinely available and cost-effective assays, thereby facilitating potential integration into standard clinical workflows. This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and post-traumatic stress disorder.
