In a number of other cancers, such as lymphomas, gastric cancers, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and nasopharyngeal carcinomas, reduced MTAP expression is associated with promoter hypermethylation, which produces similar functional loss as tumors with homozygous deletion of the MTAP gene [33,34,35,36,37]. The gene discussed is MTAP; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
