CRP and Hypoalbuminemia: Patients in the complicated group had higher white blood cell counts (median 9.8 K vs 8.6 K, P < .01), were more likely to have hypoalbuminemia <3 mg/dL 46% (319/687) versus 24% (401/1675), P < .01 and had elevated CRP levels (median 10.2 vs 7.6 mg/dL, P = .03) (Table 5).
