Since a significant association with the release of eicosanoid mediators was not observed in this study, it is possible to speculate that the underlying mechanism in the natural food sourced salicylate induced urticaria exacerbation may not be linked to the inhibition cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and the production of LTs, PGs and TXs.
