Similar results were obtained with the spike protein from the spike proteins of two other Coronavirus: HKU1, a coronavirus that causes upper respiratory disease in humans with symptoms of the common cold, but can advance to pneumonia and bronchiolitis (McCallum et al. 2024; Esper et al. 2006; Woo et al. 2005) , and a bat coronavirus, PRD0038 that has potential to spillover to humans (Feng et al. 2023). This evidence concerns the gene CHMP5 and bronchiolitis.
