Importantly, treatment with mitoxantrone, a known USP11 inhibitor [29], significantly reduced EGFR levels in colon cancer cell lines (HCT-15 and HT-29) (Fig. 1F, G, HCT-15; Fig. 1H, I, HT-29), indicating that USP11 is involved in maintaining EGFR stability through its deubiquitinating activity.
