Our finding that adults aged ≥75 were less likely to discontinue high-risk medication aligns with other analyses of claims data40, though some studies report opposite results in the associations with race/ethnicity and discontinuation (e.g., acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs), bisphosphonates)24,38,39 but often focused on older adults with dementia or in nursing homes. This evidence concerns the gene ACHE and dementia.
