In leukemia versus healthy blood donors (Fig 7B), SYCP1, ADAD1, and SYCE1 were hypermethylated (~0.35 vs. ~ 0.17, ~ 0.84 vs. ~ 0.44, and ~0.45 vs. ~ 0.09, respectively), while PRSS54 was markedly hypomethylated (~0.08 vs. ~ 0.86). The gene discussed is SYCE1; the disease is leukemia.
