SAS have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy as the primary differential diagnosis followed by secondary LVH, caused by systemic hypertension, acromegaly, myocardial infiltrative disease (e.g., lymphoma), hyperthyroidism, dystrophin-deficient hypertrophic feline muscular dystrophy, or administration of steroids (28, 34).
