Single nucleotide polymorphisms in SLC4A10 and LAMA2, which encode solute carrier family 4 member 10 (SLC4A10) and laminin subunit alpha 2 (LAMA2) respectively, have also been associated with smoking status and lung function (forced vital capacity) [28–30], further supporting their relevance in COPD pathophysiology. The gene discussed is LAMA2; the disease is chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
