Activation of the farnesoid X receptor (FXR/NR1H4) induces bile salt export pump (BSEP) protein expression and, via small heterodimer partner (SHP)‐mediated feedback, suppresses cytochrome P450 7A1 (CYP7A1), thereby enhancing bile acid efflux, facilitating bilirubin clearance, and alleviating intrahepatic cholestasis (Wang et al. 2024; Yang et al. 2023; Yuan et al. 2018). The gene discussed is NR0B2; the disease is intrahepatic cholestasis.
