Bioinformatics studies have consistently associated elevated LAYN expression with poor prognosis in multiple malignancies, including hepatocellular carcinoma (9, 32), skeletal undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (33), gastrointestinal cancers (34, 35), breast cancer (28, 36), lung cancer (37, 38), and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (39).
