HTR2A and morphine dependence: Future studies will include analyses of dopaminergic and serotonergic turnover and receptor activity (e.g., D1/D2, 5-HT1A/5-HT2A) in reward-related brain regions such as the nucleus accumbens, amygdala, and prefrontal cortex to further elucidate the neurochemical mechanisms underlying diclofenac’s effects on morphine dependence.
