NPPB and diabetes mellitus: As expected, PV patients had higher plasma lyso-Gb3 levels compared to LBV patients (p < 0.0001), increased septum thickness (p = 0.0056), serum NT-proBNP levels (p = 0.0489), and left ventricular mass (p = 0.008), resulting in a higher frequency of left ventricular hypertrophy (p = 0.027; Table 1) Noteworthy, the distribution of the main cardiac risk factors including diabetes, hypertension, and smoking showed no significant differences between both groups (Table 1).
