APOB and metabolic syndrome: Table 1 summarizes the characteristics of studied subjects. In adults, the prevalence of overweight and dyslipidemia, characterized by elevated LDL-C, TG, apoB, non-HDL-C, and/or lower HDL-C, was significantly higher in men than in women. Among children, overweight was significantly more frequent in boys than in girls (16.4% vs. 8.1%; P = 0.034).
