Given (1) the role of IGF2BP2 in regulating Nrf2 stability, (2) the ability of Nrf2 to drive both ferroptosis resistance and M2 polarisation and (3) the lactate‐rich nature of the CRC TME, we hypothesised that lactate‐induced IGF2BP2 lactylation stabilises Nrf2 to simultaneously enforce a ferroptosis‐resistant and immunosuppressive phenotype specifically in M2 macrophages. This evidence concerns the gene IGF2BP2 and colorectal carcinoma.
